You should start blogging they said, it’s not scary they said, just be yourself and tell your point of view they said…

Ha!  Some of you have seen this up close and personal, but I have an insane fear of speaking in public!  It's seriously UGLY!  As soon as I stand up to speak to a group (even like 6 people) everything I had in my head to say, instantly leaves!  I shake, I sweat, I lose my breath, ugh, it's rough!  And they want me to put my words out there for hundreds of people to see!  Ahhhh!!  Maybe if I dont have to stand in front of people, it'll be easier!
I’ve been working on conquering fears and getting outside of my comfort zone so I figured, what better way to do it?  So, here goes…
I want to start blogging so I can tell people my story. I recently started a brand new, scary and awesome adventure in my life!  It may not be all that interesting to some, but I’ve had a lot of cool experiences, interspersed with some really bad ones, that could be pretty entertaining.  You can be the judge!  I’m just going to write, or try to, so don’t judge too harshly!
I had a pretty quiet upbringing in the great state of Minnesota.  I lived in Prior Lake for my entire childhood and couldn’t wait to get out of there!  Not because it’s a bad town or anything, I just knew I wanted to see the world at an early age.  Especially much warmer parts of the world!
It all started when I was 8 years old....  My first trip to the ocean!  My parents took us on a mind bending (for an 8 year old) 8 day trip to Paradise (for an 8 year old).  Disney and the Big Red Boat!!! We spent 3 days in Orlando at Disney World… pretty cool, but just not my cup of tea, no pun intended for you Disney fans!  Then we drove across part of Florida to the Cape Canaveral cruise port.  That’s where she stood… THE BIG RED BOAT!   I had no idea what to expect, but I was pretty freakin excited.  I remember a lot of parts of that cruise, which is surprising because my memory is BAD. I remember the giant red hull of the ship, I remember what our stateroom looked like, I even remember what I was wearing that day. OK, we took a picture as we got on the ship, that one’s cheating!  I remember our server Jacques, he was awesome.  The life of the party, always singing and dancing and he knew just how to crack my brother and I up. I also remember by the 3rd night of our cruise, we had to change servers because Jacques must have been partying a little too hard.  He had broken an extremity and was no longer able to be our server, so we were switched to a much less exciting, but very nice young man. And I can't remember his name because he just wasn't as cool as Jacques!  *Sad face*   But for us, the party went on!  I remember swimming with dolphins (which I no longer condone, I’m sure you’ll read about that in later blogs), I remember eating snails for the first time, and the last time.  And I specifically remember sitting on the back of the boat one night in a lounge chair, watching a thunderstorm, probably a hundred miles away, dancing over the Bahamas somewhere.  It was seriously the most awe inspiring thing I had seen in my life up until then.  I remember being completely captivated by it and I remember never wanting to leave that place.  I was drawn to the ocean before that, but it HOOKED me that night!  I will forever be a lover of the ocean and cruising!
